I enjoyed working with colleagues from various islands on this paper, published in Perspectives in Ecology and Conservation this month, examining the contributions of Caribbean-based authors in the ecology, conservation and biodiversity peer-reviewed literature.
Greater investment & collaboration in the region is vital if we are to tackle shared threats to biodiversity while helping increase global significance of locally-driven research. It won't be cheap or easy, but is much-needed.
